Yea, I guess that you must know from the title of this post that I am getting ready to leave for the Max Planck Insitute for Social Anthropology. I got the position I was interviewed for and I am going to be in Halle/Saale for three years. Well, not quite. During the interview, my supervisor, Professor Dr Gunther Schlee said they could give me the first six months that would not be counted as part of my PhD for learning German. That means that I will have the first six months learning German, the following twelve months becoming an anthropologist. After that I will return to Nigeria for my fieldwork. I will spend the last and third year of my PhD writting the thesis.
I am off to Germany on Tuesday, and for those who have been visiting this site I promise to keep you up to date when I get to Germany.
Phew! Finally, I am in the present!!
Holy cow. Good luck.
