Lamidi Adedibu is Dead

By | June 11, 2008

I just learnt that Lamidi Adedibu is dead. I am yet to get the details but I can remember that I learnt a couple of weeks ago that he was admitted in a Lagos-based hospital. It is going to be interesting to see what becomes of Ibadan politics. Remember how Ibadan was described as a ‘garrison town’ which has its own special kind of politics? Really, I hope the city does not descend into violence.

Adedibu is gone. It’s no more a news but a reality. Commercial drivers are not working in Ibadan today because of the stormy petrel of Ibadan politics that will be buried by 12noon today. I think this is the time for us in Ibadan and Oyo state as a whole to stand up and take our place in governance, we should allow violent politics to go with Adedibu. Let us work towards a new beginning and take Oyo state to her leadership position in Governance. Let us begin to set the pace again. Remember “aji se bi Oyo ni ari, Oyo ki se bi baba enikan” that is we are pace setters.
