This video has been credited with numerous awards. But I think care should have been taken to mark “Olori Oko” with the appropriate Yoruba tonal mark to avoid a possible pronunciation that might suggest “Phallic Greatness”. How far?

Lol, music in connection to culture makes me think of when I was walking around at the local market in Zinder looking at tissue, and all of a sudden, I hear the Swedish summer hit of 2006 “Botten Anna” playing on the radio. In Swedish! I was in shock – felt like running around like mad shouting, it’s my country’s song, it’s my country’s song! Not that the song was particularly good, but it was playing in Africa!!! 🙂
