Ok, the last time I took off without any introduction I started by begging for my inconsistency, I wonder how I should start this. Alright, I wont bore you with the apologies this time; suffice it to say that a lot has happened and I am going to go through them in a rush so that we can get to the present. I’ll start with the job.

Yea, I got a job with one of the mobile telecoms companies in Nigeria. Now, those who have read my previous blogs must think that that is some choice. Oh yea, it is. I had a brain wave and decided to go get a job, and anyone for that matter. I thought that time was up for me borrowing money from my mother. At least if you want to start a life you best start it somewhere. So I called one of my friends and asked if he could help get a job. And voila, I got me a job! Now, a brief description of the job. I was employed as a customer care representative. By the way, that is a very nice way to call a person who picks phone calls and attends to customers demands, and these demands could range from mere enquiries to screams of irate customers. No problems, the pay is good so you can at least console yourself with the idea that you are getting some good money for doing the job. Hey, Europeans who read this, I am sure that you don’t have university graduates doing this kind of job, but here in Nigeria whatever job you can get you simply grab. Yea, you have a lot of people who have masters degrees doing the kind of job. So, by the way, I wasn’t much of an exemption. Looking back, I really should have been updating my blog the whole while I was working there. There was really a lot to talk about. From the over-delighted customers who always prefixed every sentence with a Sir, through the long list of those who do not know their rights, and the ones who would insist on speaking a local language as agains English, to the ones who would tell you how horrible your company is, and how bad the services offered are. Yea, I had to deal with the range. Well, I was happy when quality assessment told me that I didn’t do badly at all. I am a really harsh assessor of myself, and I perhaps wouldn’t have given myself a pass mark but it was sort of refreshing to have those who are paid to assess you tell you that you were good. Ok, let us have an interlude now and move to Europe; I’ll be back to finish the phone job bit.
